Salt’s Wound Out Today

To celebrate today’s publication of my new novel, Salt’s Wound, I’ve posted on my research on French lavoirs (washing places): https://traceywarr.substack.com/p/the-lavoirs-of-france?r=1nlbpo&utm_campaign=post-expanded-share&utm_medium=web

The cover image is a lavoir in Aujols in the Lot Valley, not far from where I live, from the book Christophe Lefébure (2003) La France des Lavoirs, Editions Privat. Heavy wet clothing and bedding were slapped from side to side against the stone butterflies to remove some of the water after washing.

Also out today is my newsletter, Just Meandering, which includes news on my author’s talk in Parisot, France in January and an article on my thoughts on AI (and an aside on democracies).

Here are AI’s imaginings of some of the characters from my Trobairitz Sleuth novels:

Salt’s Wound is available as an ebook or paperback from various retailers. All that glitters is not gold in this medieval tale of poison, diamonds, and salt, set in the Pyrenees mountains at the end of the eleventh century. A sharp-tongued female troubadour and an observant lady’s maid deal with murder, a revenant, a suspected fratricide, and some very bad weather.
